| Hi and welcome to Alphabetty Designs. My name is Jane and I make classical ballet tutus and dance costumes together with teaching dressmaking workshops and courses. My skills have been passed down the generations – we have always been a family of dressmakers. My Nan learnt her craft at her mother's knee and taught my Mum and in turn she has passed the love ot sewing on to me. My Mum was always making something either cushion covers or new curtains or a dress for me or one of the many costumes I had during my dancing days. I was forever pinching bits of fabric, lace, buttons and sequins from her box to make my own creations and try to make my dolls outfits. The first tutu that I made was for me to dance the black swan and I'm pleased to say that the tutu is still being used today, over 10 years later!
